Canadian Adventure Camp!!! SOooooo much fun. The gym is "open air" and sometimes squirrels run across the floor while you're doing stuff. There's also a climbing wall, water trampoline, tarzan rope, sauna, basketball court, this spinning thing called a gyro, and the food is really good. It's...
That's awful! I know that in our gym's mission statement there is something like, "all athletes must respect all other athletes, coaches, staff, judges, and officials." But that is the extent of it. I know a girl at my gym this year who got bullied by her teammates, and when they told the head...
Does anyone have any suggestions of games that can be played on or around the uneven bars? I like to coach one day a session of just games, and bars makes this difficult! I don't have anything! Thanks :)
I've been working a lot of backhip circles and casts with my advanced recreational girls, and they all need help getting their casts high enough. I've been using the outside of my arm to push their legs while holding on to their shoulder with my other arm...and now it seems I cant move my left...
In my gym we've been setting lots of goals for the season. I thought it would be cool for people to post their goals here, and let everyone when they achieve them!
I want to learn backhandspring on high beam, cast handstand layout full, layout flyaway and fronthandspring full off vault. I...
I have the exact same problem. A month ago I got my flyaway by myself, and then all of a sudden I got scared and I can't do them any more. The stupid thing is I know I'm capable, I just won't go! So I feel your pain! By the way this is an awesome thread!
*WARNING: MAJOR RANT**So my gym recently got a new head coach of the women's program. She's been working there for a while, coaching our highest level girls, but she is not a very nice person...she coached a group for a while with a wide age and level range, in which she would go whole practices...
I know how you feel!! I hate skipping gym, so i usually go when I'm tired, but I'm always worried I'll hurt myself so I ask my coach if I can not do the scary stuff...like no tumbling, no vault, and when the rest of my group does those things I condition. But at the same time if you know you...
Hey! Does anyone have any good ideas for kindergym (1 hour) or recreational girls gymnastics? Our kinders always do the same thing and it gets really boring! I'd also appreciate hearing about any games or theme days! Thanks!
(First of all you defenitely do not need to lose weight, so dont be too hardcore, but we can all relate to wanting to feel a little better about ourselves...I feel a little bad responding to this kind of post because I'm worried that by giving you advice it might make you fdeel like there really...
A movie night might be fun...everyone could get comfy on the floor on mats and you could rent a projector and show a movie on the wall...and you could also sell popcorn and snacks :)
I agree with everyone else...tape, doctor, ice, advil...but also try to guard it with your life!! Sore toes have a tendency to get jammed/stepped on/stubbed way more often than before you hurt it! Its a fact of life!
I was wonderring the same thing...it could be fear of competition, or maybe the person doesn't want to commit to so much time in the gym...it's a huge commitment and a lot of money!! I bet competing also changes the sport for a lot of people - from something that is a lot like playing around on...
I pretty much only cry at gym when i get hurt...now. But a couple years ago I cried like every day during conditioning...and believe me crying is not as embarassing as it gets! When I hurt my knee this year I screamed and then fell over and literally started chewing on the mat...(and I'm 17!!)...
