WAG What is a lightning bolt on bars?

Toe on hecht is what FIG judges in Aust call it, colloquially known as a hiccup. The"hecht" is the counter movement -from releasing the low bar leaning back to a fast movement up and forwards to generate swing into the long kip. There are other versions without toe-on (clear hecht - valued as a...

    Hi from Australia

Excellent that your girl was chosen for the IDP program. Unfortunately my girl got involved a little too old, and will stick with the national stream until she gives it away. She's 12. Her goal is to represent Victoria in the National Stream, so it's possibly realistic!

Skills you want to see more of/Skills you never want to see again

Is interesting that in Australia we don't ever train or perform mill circles! I had to google them to find out what they were. My daughter is at Level National 5, which is about your US Level 6-7 and would never have done one in her gymnastics career!!

    Hi from Australia

Hi! No it's the National stream. In Victoria we have level 5A and 5B. There are training limits on 5B, maybe 10-12 hours?, while 5A it is higher. My daughter trains between 16-20 hours per week. Whereabouts are you based? I judge the littlies (Level 1-3) comps as well.

    First Competition Tomorrow

Hi again. My daughter's first comp is on Saturday - it has been a very long build up but it is very exciting. We are lucky enough to have the comp at our home gym. She should be very competitive on vault and bars. She struggles a bit on floor and beam because she has flexibility issues. Good...

    First Competition Tomorrow

Hi - My daughter does Level 5A in Victoria and her core skills are a little different. What state are you in and are you in a state stream or national stream? How have your comps been going?
