making the switch.. prep op to levels.

Ask your coaches. :) They will best be able to guide you. I think at your age you need to sit with the coaches and your parents and map out your gymnastics goals. Ask yourself, where do I want gymnastics to take me and how do I achieve that goal-collge gymnastics, regionals, etc?

making the switch.. prep op to levels.

At our gym, you can't go to 5 at all without a kip on the high and low bar. It does not matter rather you have all the other skills. The kip is the deal breaker.

    Parents Update on us. :)

This time last year I had younger dd as a level 2 and older dd as a level 4 repeater. Meanwhile I was preggers. :) My little boy was born in August at 34 weeks. He is doing great. At 9 mos, he is on the smaller size but is meeting all skills and ahead on most. We had to jump right into meets in...

Parents Broken Toe at base :(

update Ortho appointment went really well! :) The dr said that it is a clean and easy break and not at the base. That was a normal variation of bones on a child's foot that the rediologist was seeing. She is to tape it at all times. She may conitinue with gymnastics as long as it is not...

Parents Broken Toe at base :(

Ellie ran through the house and caught her foot on a corner. She cried for a few minutes and kept on going. Monday she was up and around. It looked fine other than a cut. No complaints from her. She asked me to wrap it for gym because there was a bruise. I wrapped it. She did 3 hours of...

Parents Sisters at the same level

Thanks! THose were my thoughts too! They both excel at different areas. One is very powerful and is good at bars and vault. THe other is graceful and is great at floor and beam. :)We will continue to celebrate both as we have in the past when they did the same meet at different levels. I think...

Parents Sisters at the same level

4 years, so they won't be in the same age group. I tell them that they are being coached by the same coaches at the same time. They should expect to be at the same level.

Parents Sisters at the same level

My oldest is working through level four. Just needs a few skills to move to five. Her younger sister just finished a very successful string of meets as a level 3. Placing in the top two at each meet. She has all of her level four skills. Her coaches made the decision to move up the three level...

A different way to make those competition curls? Hair friendly/no heat

What we do is cut up an old tshirt into strips.Thicker ones. Then with hair damp we twist sections and roll it up and tie the ends. I also add some get. She sleeps in it or just wears it for a couple of hours. Very curly and pretty.

Dd has one. We have been to the dr several times to have it looked at. He advised her to use tiger paws. They work wonders. No more pain. We ignore it. Book thing hurts. Surgery is no promise of non return. Dr. told us to wait it out. They could drain it but once it was explained to her , she...

Parents tendinitis, ganglion cysts, shoulder pain....now what?

I have a daughter with a ganglion cyst as well. Her ortho said to get tiger paws. It works. No pain.. She vaults and does floor with them on. I just bought her a new pair because she has worn out her old pair-they stink and are discolored. UGH.Her coaches require her to wear it because the dr...

Parents Camp opinion for those who asked about younger gymnasts before

My dds just got back from a college camp. My younger dd is 7 and training level 4. Their day was similar. 8 to twelve gym, 1-2 swim, 2 to 5 gym, 6 to 8 open gym. It is a lot of gym. She was slightly sore when she came back, but her gym is one of those that does a LOT of conditioning. I would...
