    Tendonitis experience?

Not asking for medical advice-DD has a doctor and sees her frequently. Just curious what other young (teen) sufferers of tendonitis have had for treatment. Physical therapy? Casts/boots/braces? RICE? Heat? Prescribed or over the counter NSAIDS? Steroids? Cortisone? Surgery? Has anything...

The World's Toughest Sport- where do we rank?

What Is the Toughest Sport in the World? | Bleacher Report I expected gymnastics to be ignored, or to be close to the top.

    Just relieved- not spondylolysis

I have been quite stressed for a few weeks. DD complained of back pain a few weeks ago and ...yadayadayada... the orthopedist sent her for a bone scan due to the prevalence of this injury in gymnasts. I withheld some informaiton from her so she wouldn't worry, DH thought that the test was...

    Level 8 states

This good luck forum has been very good to my flipper. She has been trying to clean up some of her stuff, and that often leads to two steps backwards to make one leap forward. She is working so hard and getting a little frustrated, which is ok. She is in a really tough field and the largest...

    DD has lost her giants

They were last seen in the gym, so if you find them, please return them to her immediately. She needs them for her meet tomorrow. It is her last chance to qualify for states and she is really distraught.

Parents Things that make you go huh?

Went to an out of state meet this weekend. We usually do a couple in our region each year. So, our level 7 and 8 girls have been averaging floor scores in the 9+ range all year. In fact, my dd has never got a floor score below 8.5 since her first level 7 meet, on level 7 or on level 8...

    Parents Meet report/ Brag alert

Just back from Christmas on the Chesapeake. All of our gym's girls did pretty well. DD got a 9.025 on floor- best floor score and first COTC medal for her. Improved everything but beam. Congrats to my dd- rocking level 8!

    Parents Needing fairies

Well DD is cracking under pressure. She spent all summer busting out her level 8 skills so she could compete 8 this year. The last two weeks she has not been able to do anything. I have videos of her doing all these skills two months ago. The coach says she is a perfectionist ( I've never...

    Parents Little brag- my first

DD was asked to do bars and floor at an exhibition during a level 2/3 meet on one day's notice because her bars are the best and her dance is the best. Yay flipper, level 8.

    What we were thinking

I noticed some comments made by coaches about parents in a few different threads here that I really found myself wanting to say- hey, that's not at all what it looks like! Sometimes, we need to put ourselves in the other person's shoes. For example, one comment was about a child who was tired...
