    Well its happened

I saw this on gymnastic coaching and thought I would stop by for a second. I got my period for the first time in college at age 18 a few months after I quit gymnastics. I tried pads first, but threw the box away and went to tampons after the first one. I still do tumbling and coach middle...

    Off Topic MAC vs PC?

I've always had macs. I just got a new macbook for college. They are actually cheaper than PCs with the same stats. PCs are only cheaper because they are built to be cheap. They last 2-3 years on average, where as macs can run fast with out problems for 5-10 years. I still use a blueberry and...

Make It or Break It --- ABC Family --- June 22nd 9/8c

The skills were compelelty unrealistic for that level. A tucked flyaway? Really now? Do they really take off 2 full points for a fall? And even if you were off on vault you would just pretend the vault was still there, you would try to reach for it and end up with a really low angle.

What's worse - rips or blood blisters?

They definitively do not use crazy glue in hospitals. They use dermabond, which is similar, but does not burn skin like superglue or crazyglue does. Superglue is caustic. Don't use it to glue your rips closed. *headdesk*

    Suggestions please

I got a blister on the middle of my foot because there is a bump in my tennis shoes and i didn't figure that out until too late. If you put 2 fingers together and wrap prewrap around them a few times, then roll them off your fingers it should make a ring. You can tape that around the blister as...

    Private Lessons?

We pay $5 to the gym and $25 to the coach per hour, so that would make it $30 per hour. I think this is reasonable. I would probably be willing to pay $40, but $70 is way too much for one hour. Don't doctors make around $70 an hour? Coaches can set their own prices, but I've talked to 3...

    What grips do you use?

I have reisport velcro ones. I've had them for about a year but I only go twice a week. I don't like buckle grips. My velcro still stays pretty well even though the end of the velcro strip is full of pit foam. lol

    Question on skills

Hmm, I'm not really sure what you need help with with each skill, but generally... When I started working on fulls, I twisted too early so I couldn't get very high. You could try delaying the twist a bit so you could get more lift.

    Rips!

Burt's Bees sells this stuff that is kinda oily but it works pretty well. You can put it on at night and it speeds up the healing.

    cleaning the bars

When the bars need to be cleaned, the coaches will scrape them off with a grip-brush type of thing. I actually think it might be a toilet brush. Sometimes we will get rough patches on the bars because everyone puts their hands in the same place and chalk will build up unevenly. I think if we...

    Shoulder pain

My shoulder pops out and back into place randomly. I don't think it's actually being dislocated because it always pops back in immediately, but it hurts for a few days afterword. It often does it on back extension rolls, but it's also happened to me when I was doing back handsprings on beam...

Funny Things People who don't do gym have said?

The other day I was at practice and there were a group of parents of the little girls who were in the intro class and they wanted to know why the coach never let them go on the rings. They were pretty mad that they didn't get any time on the rings.

    Velvet leotards too hot?

I never wear long-sleeve leos, but i don't think velvet leos are all that hot, and it gets pretty hot where i live. My old gym didn't have air conditioning but a lot of us still wore velvet leos.

    The Chalk Bucket Homepage

That home page looks pretty bland. I just bookmarked the forums, so I don't really even go to the home page? BTW, what happened to the wiki?
