Parents Child changed gym, now former coaching trashing him to his former teammates.

I am so sorry you are going through this! We recently went through something similar....my daughter left her previous gym in December, but is friends with and speaks with a few of the gymnasts still there. Just a few weeks ago, some of the girls still there told my daughter that the head coach...

    WAG Judge a routine

I will send the video in a message Sarah_the_Gymnast, if I can figure out how haha!! Thanks so much GymCMLA...she's having a really difficult time seeing past the hard parts of gymnastics and is questioning whether it's all worth it. I'm hoping that positive feedback from her routines might...

    WAG Judge a routine

Would someone be willing to judge my daughter's level 8 floor, bars and vault? She recently had a mock meet, but we don't receive any feedback. She's extremely nervous about this season and I was thinking if she knew about what to expect sore wise, it might help....thanks!!

Parents Advice - North Texas (DFW)

I second the Southlake Gymnastics idea. I'm not sure where in the Metroplex you are, but you may also want to try ASI, US Gold, Gym Plus. I'm sure there are other options depending on your location.

    WAG NCAA Championships

We live near the Ft. Worth area and were fortunate enough to attend the championships this weekend. It was an amazing experience! We've been to college meets before, but to see so many different teams competing pretty neat. There was so much going on at times that we didn't know what or who to...

    WAG What would you do?

@Midwestmommy and @duyetanh LOVED this advice, especially the blowing raspberries and the eating chocolate LOL...thanks so much!! It's crazy that we would not allow our DDs to act the way some of these parents behave! I've taken a few days to think about it and I think one of the things that...

WAG Level 6 tumbling pass options

My DD had the same issue!! She just completed Level 6 and ended the season doing a front walkover, front handspring, roundoff. Scored a 9.85 on floor at State, so turned out to be the best option for her. I believe I remember the coach telling me they just have to have 3 skills connected.

Doing my best to ignore :)

    WAG What would you do?

Thank you all for the responses. While I don't want to get involved with drama, I am more the "hey, heard you had a problem with me, let's talk about it" kind of person. I don't like gossip and would rather just confront something head on. That was my line of thinking in asking if I should talk...

    WAG What would you do?

I would like to first say that I would go to extraordinary links not to be a crazy gym mom, so I need someone to talk me off the ledge if need be :). My DD (9 year old level 6) has recently been going through fear/vestibular issues. I recently over heard two moms from our gym talking, one is...

    WAG Fear or something else?

@profmom That's what I was thinking about the counseling also!! Would like to give her the opportunity to learn a few positive tools to deal with true fear (not vestibular) issues in the future. We will continue playing the patience/waiting game :) I see her frustration and can see how very...

    WAG Fear or something else?

@dunno Thank you for your insight!! Totally makes sense that her previous incident stemmed from vestibular issues. Two years ago when this all began, I read through all of the information you have posted; however, I am definitely going to go back through and read it again. Unfortunately she was...

    WAG Fear or something else?

Thank you! We have not even talked about what level she may or may not be next year, but I will definitely make sure she knows whatever happens is totally fine with us!! I'm definitely not worried about the level so much as that old fear re-surfacing. Or should I say that old way she dealt with...

    WAG Fear or something else?

I need some guidance! I apologize for the length of this post in advance!! My DD is a 9 year old Level 6. Actually, they just had their State Meet, so she should be training for Level 7 now. Best meet she’s ever had…scored a 38.5 all around (sorry, proud mama moment!!) When she was 7, she was...

    WAG N. Dallas gym suggestions?

Have you found a gym for your daughter yet? We are in the same area!! We moved this time last year and visited several gyms before we decided on one. My daughter is 9yo and just finished level 5 and will compete level 6 in January. Would be happy to give you my insight if you'd like!!

WAG Shameless brag and annoying Texas question!! Opinions needed and very welcome!

I think just the sheer number of suburb options in the area is what has me overwhelmed. Like choosing a gym, I just don't want to make the wrong choice. My husband will be moving before us so he will have the opportunity to explore the area and then I hope to make at least 2 trips to house and...

WAG Shameless brag and annoying Texas question!! Opinions needed and very welcome!

Thank you to everyone for your replies. I really appreciate the insight. Looks like I will be contacting dunno and doing a little more research. I'm very excited about going to Dallas, although I have lived in my hometown all of my life so I'm a little anxious as well. The Dallas area is so...

WAG Shameless brag and annoying Texas question!! Opinions needed and very welcome!

My daughter, who is 7,competed Xcel Gold (in our part of region 8 Xcel is just as competitive, if notmore so than compulsory). I believe thisis equivalent to Level 5. She startedoff the year scoring in the low 35’s but by the end of the season, at her last3 or 4 meets, she was scoring in the...
