    Coaches Skip Level 6?

This past year with the new level changes, gymnasts were able to skip Level 6. We have heard varying things on whether they can do that this year. Does anyone know...can girls go right from Level 5 to Level 7, or do they have to score out of 6?

    WAG Skipping Level 5 Question

I wasn't quite sure which forum to stick this question in. For those of you with gymnasts who will be scoring out of Level 5 this season either via the first meet or a move-up meet - when will they be learning their Level 6 routines - or are they already? This is the plan for my daughter and...

WAG Could I ask coach to skip certain drills to minimize injury?

DD is prone to a toe injury on her foot which happens whenever she jams her toe it bends forward. Usually happens when she is jumping up and forward to land on her feet on a stationary object (block, vault etc.). And it happens when she is tired so she can't always get the height she needs. It...

    WAG Skipping level 6

I thought level 6 didn't have to be scored out of. Is that true? If so, can someone point me to where it says that? Trying to settle a disagreement :)

WAG 6 year old skipping Level 3

So my 6 year old DD has been at our gym since she is 3 and has been in their developmental program. Last year she did great for the most part with L2. She was at the gym twice a week for 1.5 hours. Cost was high but decent for our geography. I am a former high school gymnast and coach... but...

    Parents Skipping vs. Scoring Out

In light of a similarly-titled thread (as well as other random references to "skipping" levels), can someone please clarify for me what exactly can be skipped? I thought you had to score out of all levels beginning at 4. But, the other thread said someone can just qualify for Elite without...

    WAG Skipping optional levels

I just finished my second season of level 7 this year and I am planning on skipping levels 8 and 9, competing the rest of the season level 10, as well as qualifying elite, and hopefully getting on the national team, I know that I am easily capable of all of this even though it does seem like a...

    WAG Which level to skip

I've noticed a lot of threads about gyms that score out of level 5 or 6. Why do some gyms Skip 5 and some skip 6? Is there am advantage to one over the other?

    WAG Skipping Levels

Hey guys! Coaches and gymnasts, I need some advice on this one. I really have my heart set on doing gymnastics in college, not all four events (due to certain injuries) but definitely floor and vault. I would need to skip about 2-3 levels in the next 2 years. I was just wondering if this was...

    WAG Skipping New L5

What happens if a gymnast does not get a mobility score in either the Old L6 or New L5 and goes on to compete New L6? There is a girl on my DD's team that left gymnastics for about 7 months and has returned but never competed old JO L6 (did xcel platinum with my DD for 1 year) I don't think...

WAG Skipping the new level 3

My daughter is 10 years old. She started gymnastics two years ago coming from ballet. The coach allowed her to practice with the team girls on the old level 3 but not compete with them as the competition season had already begun. We only compete August-December USAG. Then when the changes...

    Skipping Levels NDP

Just curious on people's thoughts about skipping levels in NDP eg going from Level 1 to 3. Does this happen often? Would you let your child? Thanks in advance :-)

    Parents Question about skipping meets

DD is 5 and is competing level 1. I've been told that girls are required to do a certain number of meets to be on the team. The meet schedule for her level is about double the number of required meets. Most of these meets are a little more than 1 hour away. Two of the meets are scheduled...

    Parents Skip to 4

My dd is training to compete new level 4 in January which means she will skip level 3. She didn't practice/learn level 3 bar skills or routines. I assume this means she doesn't have to test out of level 3 to compete level 4? Sent from my SCH-I535 using ChalkBucket mobile app

Parents Move Up/Skip a Level Question-- New Level 2 (old 3) vs New Level 3 (old 4)

Level 2 dd's coach advised that she is definitely moving up to the new level 2 but they are going to see if they can have her skip a level to the new level 3, but they won't make those decisions until June or July. What are the big skills in the new level 3 (old 4)? I'm assuming it's the...

Parents What would you do? (teams and skipping levels)

My daughter has found the last 2 years of gymnastics really easy, as she hasn't been learning any new skills. She has been expressing her growing boredom for a year now. We're moving, so there MIGHT be an option for her to skip a level (it would have been really easy to do so last year, but...

    Parents Skipping levels?

A little background on my gymnast. She is a 7 y.o. level 4 competing. She competed Level 2 last year and skipped 3. We are at a small gym that caps out at 7 right now. My daughter lives and breathes for the gym. We are being encouraged to move her to level 6 in the fall and possibly 7 in the...

WAG Compete at level 3 or just skip it?

This is my first post here, and am enjoying reading all the different threads from the parents and coaches! My daughter has just switched to a new gym with the original intentions of competing at the new level 3 in Fall 2013. They are now suggesting she compete at the old level 3 for a couple...

    WAG When to skip bars?

I have about half of my team with very sore hands. We have a meet on Saturday. I'm wondering if we should skip practicing on bars one day this week? Which one? We practice Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

    Parents Skipping

It is quite amusing to watch when my 4 1/2 year old skips. She goes to rec classes and they do skipping part of warm ups (part of race across the gym). Skipping is the hardest thing she works on. Her little mind cannot comprehend this trick. Lol What makes it more fun is that me and all the...
