It's amazing. They have been very welcome and positive. And ridiculously organized! I love the owner and HC and I'm just meeting the other coaches, but so far so good! They seem very good with communication too. Fingers crossed that this was the right move, but so far it feels right!
Wow....organized!!!!

Thanks! That's super helpful re your daughter's experience in tumbling and fears.

That makes the crazines worth it! I'm glad you are talking about USAIGC. I'm am realizing that it doesn't get enough credit or attention. For kids that are not aiming for a scholarship, it seems like a great option while avoiding supporting a system that needs a little refreshing.

Actually usaig kids can get scholarships:) and usaigc will help place kids who meet the requirement (I forgot exactly what it is- but it's hard)

Here's what they say about college placement- it's though but it's doable. Tell Puna Jr! I think she'll step up and try her best:)

They say that, but does anyone know of any current NCAA gymnasts that came from usaigc? I am definitely not knocking the program- we happen to love it and wish it were available for my DD, but I don't think it's all a bit smoke and mirrors when it comes to college gymnastics.

Yea, no clue! I assume if that were ever even a thought she'd have to jump back into JO in a year or so. But we do have several DIII schools around here and I assume they'd take a good gymnast no matter where they came from? Maybe an event specialist, like an IGC Premier bars kid would get a sniff? I have no idea and right now it's the furthest thing from my mind!

Wow....I am so thrilled for puma Jr. This is what it is all about, that picture says a million words.

Congratulations mom for doing the right thing and listening to your child.

Can't wait to read more great news about the journey.

I don't really follow NCAA gymnastics yet, my daughter isn't into it yet. She goes to the local camp and she likes the local girls, but she doesn't really know anything about it (and neither do I)! I do know that my daughter's coach didn't do JO she did USAIG and she was a NCAA gymnast. It's my impression that the program had some low years like low enrollment and not high expectations, but that that's changing slowly. I could be wrong though. My daughter's coach says they can learn the same things but she can structure the program to be lower hours while they're younger so they can hopefully make it to college injury free. Obviously they're not promising college scholarships, and it's hard, but it's just as doable with hard work with this program as JO (like it's hard for kids to make it to college from JO too- there's just way more kids in JO right now), gymnastics is gymnastics:)
