How hard/easy was is it for you to learn a back tuck dismount on beam? Any tips or pointers?

It was more difficult for me, after going through an incident when I was younger. I vividly remember my progression because I struggled with it. It really is not a difficult skill though, mentally it is a little like learning a flyaway in my opinion. I started off on fat beam into the pit (basically on the floor) then we put that to blocks. Then I added one then two mats. And then I went for it off a normal beam with a spot, then no spot.

My best advice for a gymnast learning this is to take your time if you know you are more cautious when it comes to skills. Make sure you get bored at one place before you move it up.
