As I understand it: They needed a certain score at the test event in London in order to qualify. There was a score set by the Olympic committee I assume, but British Gymnastics set a higher score for them. The gymnasts were under the impression that this score could be achieved over the whole competition, but following a mistake in one routine, they were told they hadn't qualified. Although later in the competition they did achieve the score set by BG, they were still told they couldn't go - Even though they had exceeded the score set by the Olympic committee!!!
They took it to appeal and won!
