Deodorizing ASO ankle braces

Those things smell like a corpse!

How can I make my ankle braces smell better without ruining them?

There have been many posts on this topic...do a search for lots of suggestions!! I wash DD's ankle braces, made of neoprene which stinks like crazy after no time at all, on the delicate cycle. She wears through them more quickly if I wash them frequently, but sometimes I have to do it!
