Closed shoulder angles on giants.. Done the tramp bar bouncing to handstand from their back.. done the reverse angle off of a cheese/wedge with a floor bar and shift to handstand with spot.. tried explaining the issue of tapping at the right time.. what else ya guys got?

Bounce handstands off of a yoga ball to their back on a mat, focusing on hitting handstand. And TONS of giants on straps, if you have a strap bar. How are their cast handstands?

ETA: Just remembered a drill I used to have to do. Handstand against the wall, walking hands out as far as possible, back facing the wall. From there, lift the legs over and up to handstand (with a spot, making sure that the back isn't arching). This can also be done on a floor rail, or with lots of mats stacked up behind the low bar. (If you do the drill on the low bar, you can have them do it from a cast handstand. And then you also have a drill for leaning over the bar in cast handstands!)

spot her for free/clear hip to handstands. explain that the angle goes from a closed/broken position to that of an open position. then tell her to perform her giant like that.

As suggested by gymnastbeth, work the strap bar. Best way to get giants is to allow the gymnast to work it from tap swings. Their bodies will naturally figure out how to apply pressure against the bar on the rise going forward and up (open shoulders).

A drill on the floor would be to do back extension rolls that go shy of the handstand (and rolls back down), emphasizing maintaining candle/dish shape with no lower back arch/release.
