Grass tumbling

I am a cheerleader and a gymnast. I have a great round off back handspring back tuck, it has a good set and lots of power. I also have a roundoff back handspring with a very high rebound. The problem is, this is on spring floor. I asked my coach with a cheer background if I would be able to do them on grass of cheer and she said I could but it would take a little getting used to. I went to cheer practice the other day and some girl where doing handspring tucks. I am probably going to try mine next practice.

Does anyone have experience with going from springs to grass/hard mat?

Is it REALLY hard to get used to or is it pretty similar?

Any tips from experience would be great.

P.S I know I have asked a similar questin before but that was when I just got my back tuck so it has improved.

I would recommend not tumbling on grass. If you choose to...be sure a coach is spotting you.

With that being said...I have tumbled on grass and concrete a lot. You don't tumble the same...more jump...less rebound when you are not on a spring floor.
