Grips?

My daughter is breaking in her first grips. Should we mark them right and left? does it matter?

I know with the Reisport grips the metal ring goes on the outside of the wrist when they grasp the bar, I assume it is that way with all grips, but I could be wrong. My DD had trouble with it and I did write L/R on them when she first got them.
