another gymnastics poem

After a day of football a gymnast would be sore.
After a day of gymnastics a football player would be dead.

I love that quote! Guys, I'm off to write some more poems, I'm quite inspired at the moment, I'll post them when I'm finished :)

2 new poems!

Well, I stayed up until 1 this morning. shh. So here are my poems...
(neither of them have a title, you can suggest one if you want)

Poem 1
When the sweat is pouring down your face,
You feel so tired and weak,
You wonder why you drag yourself here,
When progress seems so bleak,
And yet, you have limped in for more,
With your courage slightly battered,
Your not like all those other girls,
Whose hopes and dreams they shattered,
Your strong and determined,
And you're here from best to worst,
You've got your eyes fixed on your goal,
It's not all about coming first,
You're going to give it your all,
And be the best that you can be,
Because at the end of the day,
That is the true victory.

Poem 2 (My favourite so far)
When you've tried and tried and tried again,
Through all the tears and all the pain,
And yet that move won't work out right,
You know practice makes perfect,
But you'd be here all night,
Don't go home thinking you've let yourself down,
You can try it again when the next training comes round,
Even though you think it's not worth the pain,
Just try a bit harder each time you train,
And eventually that move will work out just fine,
All because you were willing to spend the time,
To push a bit harder though it seemed you weren't moving,
And with a quality like that you'll just keep on improving.

Enjoy! please tell me what you think and also if you have any suggestions for names.

You fear the loss and pain of defeat,
But still you are able to stand on two feet.
You crumble and cry as much as you want,
But nothing can keep you away from the hunt.
This is what you've been working for,
The pride and honor as you take to the floor.
You remember the struggles and pain you had,
When all the good had turned to bad.
When behind the scenes you crumpled and prayed,
For it all to simply just go away.
The doubt and regrets of what you went through,
Sometimes just made you want to give it to,
The next girl in line that had gave it her all,
But always seemed to carry a fall.
You remember the times that you though to give up,
But could never find a reason to disrupt,
Anything and everything you gave to the sport,
The hearts desire and all the support.
But when the pressure builds and tears you apart,
How are you able no to depart?
How are you able to still carry a smile,
When everything inside is in a pile?
You hold your head high and never look back,
Because this is what keeps you all intact.
It's what runs in your veins and it's the key to your heart,
And it's only the beginning, Only the start.
It holds a future that could never be told,
One that can shine with the brightest of gold.
The sky is it's limits, with the mood as it's guide,
As no one could ever predict how high,
One could travel with the hard work put in,
To truly become a Champion.

omg i love that poem by the eleven year old its AMAZING and soo tru :)

I haven't posted in a while but I thought this would be a great place to share. My DD wrote this in English and well...I'm somewhat biased but I think its sweet because I know every word came from her little 11yo heart. I hope you enjoy it.

A Gymnast’s Prayer
2008

Dear Lord, I bring to You
My humble gymnast prayer;
As I snuggle into bed
with my favorite gym bear;
I thank You for my hands
All covered in painful rips;
My sore knees, calloused feet
And the bruises on my hips;
I thank You for my leos
and my ugly knee brace;
For blessing me with power,
strength and grace;
For giving me the determination
and resolve to do what it takes;
To get up and shake it off
when I've made a mistake;
Watch over me Dear Lord
as I swing on the bars;
Clear hips and giants
that reach toward the stars;
Stand beside me Lord
as I wobble on the beam;
Grant sticky feet and pointed toes
for the entire team;
Push me as I run
toward the vault so quick;
Up and over with straight legs
for that perfect stick;
Remind me to look Lord
at the judges and smile;
Lift up my leaps
and help me perform with style;
Thank you for my Parents
that give their support;
So much love, time and money
to my costly sport;
But tonight Lord
hear my one last request;
Thanks all of my coaches
for that I feel so blessed;
They teach me so much more
than just routines and drills;
But the courage and resilience
needed to learn my new skills;
Now as I fall to sleep
and my dreams start to unfold;
they’re filled with visions of medals
all bronze, silver and Gold!

first one i think could be victory and second one could be something like
pain, practice and tears

I made these both up myself pretty
good in my opinion.

Forget the stars gymnasts shoot for the bars!
pain is only weakness leaving your body.

I don't know if anyone said these quote before but it was written at the gym. " Winners have formed a habit of doing things that losers dont like to do."

new poem?

If you are still taking requests for poems could you write one about having a horrible beam routine in a competion and all you want is another shot?

"Shoot for the moon, and If you miss, don't worry, you'll land on a star." :rolleyes:
