Rather than critique the American women's leos, I would like to discuss the men's singlets. What the HECK is up with the rooster on the British guys' warmup gear? Who thought this was a good idea? What does it mean????

On edit: I am even more confused. The picture says British gymnastics in the background, but I see now that this is actually Team France.

Isn't the rooster a common symbol in France?

A quick Google search reveals "Le Coq Gaulois" is a national emblem of France.

Some other French sports teams (like Rugby) have apparently also used a chicken/rooster on jerseys.

lol

I think the leos are kinda cool.

(P.S. My 2 years of college French a few eons ago are not enough to actually converse in French, sadly. Apologies to actual French speakers for any butchering of your beautiful language! )
