so, I broke my forearm twice in a row in less than 3 months. The second time due to being released to early. I haven't been in the gym for about 7 months due to the injury and probably won't be back for another 3-4 and I am really worrying about being able to return to how I was before. I do not think I will be able to do all the events i.e.: pommels, p-bars. My gym does not allow specialists and I really want to be able to compete again at the gym that I've been with for the past 8 years. I'm not sure what to do and if I should attempt to make a full comeback or not. Should I try and switch gyms? How long do you think it would take to get everything back. Keep in mind I am a Level 9 and before I worked out about 20 hours per week. Pls respond!!

i think it all depends on weather you really want to return. if you think you still have more to give to the sport, and still want to learn and work hard then defiantly go for the comeback. but if you feel burnt out and think you just should go back then dont bother. its going to be hard so if your not 100%

At first I wanted to say sorry for my English, because I am neither living in an English speaking country nor a Native speaker and just learned it at school.

I have been in the same situation some time ago. I injured myself badly at gymnastics and was out for almost one year. Starting gymnastics again was not easy, but possible. I needed another six months to get back to full fitness and to get all of my old skills back. To be honest this was not easy and I thought it would be faster.
But I just wanted to give it a last chance and I was not ready to give up the sport I love.

So I think you can get back to gymnastics and competitions if you are willing to put in the hard work, as Gymnastbecki said before.
Talk to your coaches, they usually know you best as an athlete and as a person.
Listen to your doctors and phyios. Don't start before you get their permission.

And just think in small steps. Coming back strongly will need time, you can’t rush through it or exactly predict this time
