My daughter has been working hard on her front full and now has it consistently however she now can not do a front layout - she twists every time she tries. She is so frustrated because she needs a front layout for one of her tumbling passes. She is level 9. Any tips? Her coach has not been around lately to help. thanks

I'd suggest working some other skills that are spatially similar to a front layout but are different enough that she wouldn't twist. Like perhaps working some front handsprings on vault or bounders on floor might help her retain that spatial awareness.

Best way is to work it back up from a bounder.

Run, punch bounder over a panel mat. Then same thing with arms wide. Then same thing with arms wider. Then.... eventually the arms get wide enough that the hands aren't touching the mat anymore, and it's a front layout.
