I was just wondering how many levels of preschool classes your gym offers.

We have...

-mommy and me 1-3yr
-45 min class 3-5 yr
-55 min class 3-5yr (barely more advanced)
-Kindergym type class 4-6 yr olds 55 min
-preteamish from the looks of it.. class i assume is by invite only kids are 4-6 1.5hr twice a week (elements working on but not have yet are pullovers, bridge walkovers ect)

we have:

~ parent / tot - 2 yr old
~ pre- school 3-5

then goes to big gym for rec classes:
~ 6-8 yr old
~ 9 and up
~ level 2 (invite)

Our gym breaks it down as:
Mommy & me - 2 year olds
3 year old class
4 year old class

After that they start having invite only classes for preteam or rec classes based on age.

Ours has a Mommy & Me for 12-30mos.
Preschool is 2.5yrs - 4yrs.

Once they are 4 (assuming the maturity is there), they go out to the regular rec classes which are divided primarily by age. More advanced kids usually move to team/preteam pretty quickly.

Our preschool gym is small, generally 2-4 in a class. Each child works at their own skill level. I'm really happy with it.

We have:
*up to 3 years Mommy and Me classes (30 minutes)
*3-4 year old preschool (45 minutes)
*5-6 year old prescool (1 hour)
*4-6 year old advanced preschool (3 hours/week)
*Open gym for kids up to 6 years old (1.5 hours)

(no name yet)..........6 months to walking ( carpet crawlers--linoleum lizards ?) 30 minutes
(no name yet)..........walking to 2 yrs old 45 minutes
Tumble Bee..............2 yrs old 45 minutes
Tumble Bug..............3 yr olds 45 minutes
Tumble Bunny...........4 yr olds 60 minutes
Tumble Bear..............5 yr olds 60 minutes

Don

We have:

Parent tot--18 month-5 years old (4-5 only if needed)
Twinkle Star--3-3.5 years old
rising star--3.5-4 years old
Shining stars--4-5 years old

we keep our preschool classes to 6 children to one teacher.

All except one of our preschool classes have parents there. We start as soon as they can walk. We have one advanced class for 4 year olds where the parents just watch. Am I right in assuming that most of the classes for 3 and up are without parents on the floor? What's your ratio for this? Our recreation classes start at 5 because that's when kids start school here.

We have:

-Mommy and me (30 min)
-Flippers (2-3 year old class, 45 min)
-Kippers (3-4 year old class, a little more advanced, 55 min)
-Twisters (4-5 year old class, more advanced, 1 hr class)

If you were to get recommended for team:

-Advanced pre-school ( ages 3-4 which DD4 is in now)
-Pre-team (ages 4-7)

Then starts level 4

We offer

Parent and tot 18months -3yrs 50 minutes
Munchkins 3 and 4 coed 1hr
Mighty Tot 3-5yr girls by invite 1hr
Kinder tots 5 and 6 coed 1hr
Might Mites 5 and 6 girls by invite 1 15min. 2x a week

Jr. Advanced Rec. - not sure age or time

a mommy and me (under 3)
several preschool classes based on level, not age so all are 3-6yr
- preschool (intro)
- shining stars (invite)
- tumble tots (invite)
- hotshots (invite - this is a "pre"-preteam for 3-6yr olds

1-2 all star teams for 5-6yr (rec. competitive - in house meets only)

our regular rec classes don't start until 6yr.

our preteam starts at 5, though most are turning 6 or older

well this is my opinoion if they can just go strat to the reguler class becus they will learn fast just my opinon theted move up sooner right.:):D

Our gym has 2 nursery school type levels which are based on age and attention spans, but then this moves into the "GEM" program.

GEM is a 9 level (each named after a Gem stone) program. You progress up the levels through skills testing, not age. Once past Diamond, the student can choose USAG competition (L3 and up) or go with Rec & Tumble (R&T) levels.

R&T are "like" comp, but without the time requirements, the skills taught aren't as broad or refined, and there are no standard routines. Since it's about 50% - 60% floor. R&T levels are very popular with cheerleaders and (believe it or not...) Middle school boys wrestling. Apparently, it helps.

Caterpillar: 12-24 Months - Parent Assisted
Butterfly: 2 years - Parent Assisted
Dragonfly: 2 1/2-3 years - Child Independent
Tadpole: 3 years - No Experience
Frog: 3 years - Experience
Salamander: 4 years - No Experience
Turtle: 4 years - Experience
Alligator: 4 years - Advanced Girls (Invitation Only)
Bullfrog: 4 years - Advanced Boys (Invitation Only)

Then there are several girls' and boys' classes for older kids (kindergarten+)- 3 levels of regular classes plus a home school option. Then kids move into either the rec league or the developmental team program.

18-months to 3yo (parent participation)
3 year olds
4 year olds
5 year olds
K1 1 hour a week
K2 1.5 hours a week
After that, you either go to Rec Level 1 or 2.

We have a preteam/developmental for ages 5-7 as well.

My gym has:
Parent & Tot: 18mo-3y - 1hr (parent participation)
Kindergym: 3-5y - 1hr (independent)
Advanced Kindergym: 4-6y - 1.5hr (more advanced)

Then the kids move into rec starting at age 5.5-6

We also have competitive stream starting at age 5. This one age restriction is very strict and if there is a kid who is too good even for Adv Kindergym but is still 4 years old (and has enough maturity) they are sometimes moved into rec (I know of one case of this happening).

Ages 3 (or almost 3 sometimes) to 5 = pregym
If kids finish the skills on the pregym poster (not hard at all) or turn 6, then they go to regular level 1. So far, the youngest kids I've seen in level one is 4 years old.
