IOC member says 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be postponed because of coronavirus pandemic

Veteran IOC member Dick Pound told USA TODAY Sports that "postponement has been decided" for the 2020 Olympics, and that it won't start July 24.

I think it is the right call, though a gut wrenching one- both from an economic standpoint by the Japanese, and from the standpoint of athletes at the end of their careers.

Thank goodness though. SO many are unable to train right now, it needed to be postponed.

There was an article a few days ago about the "fine print" on tickets folks may already have for these Olympics that supposedly covers something like a pandemic for a reason to NOT give refunds or allow folks to use those tickets for when the games are actually held ... the article said although Japan has put a lot of money in to the Games, it can legally keep the 93 million in ticket sales without giving a penny back because of the clause. Big yikes !
