I think it's going to be a fun meet to see. I'm excited to see how things pan out with all these gymnasts!

I am curious about Trautman, Schild and Skaggs being added to the teams going to Jesolo, but am confused, have they been added to the Jr. and Sr. National Teams as well? I thought that was how you were able to be sent to compete internationally?

I think they were added to the National team, but dont quote me on that. ;)

As far as a preview to 2016 Rio -- there are probably a few here that will be on that team, but I'd be surprised if it was all 5. It is "next year", but it is a way off too so a lot can happen between now and then. There are some notables missing, so we'll see what happens over the coming months. I am excited for the competition though.

I'm sure all the Seniors do. I'm not sure that all the Juniors will be age-eligible for Rio though...need to look at a roster with birth dates.

Clearly some have a better shot than others. They know their standings and as we get closer to Rio the pressure will continue to mount for increased difficulty and consistency .

Never mind, the article posted in the OP says this:
"Schild and Skaggs have been added to the senior national squad, with Trautman named to the junior team."

The US is just about unstoppable. No matter who goes to the O's. Their talent pool is impossibly deep. The real battle is for individual events finals, not team or AA.
It makes the ultimate team selection very strategic and fun to predict. Although it's great to have a team of girls who can do the AA at a high level, only two can go to the AA finals. Therefore, are you better off selecting your 2 best all arounders and 3 best event specialists? If the goal is to maximize medals, it creates an interesting dynamic. What's more important - team gold or event golds? McKayla went as an event specialist last time, but I wonder if the team can afford to bring more than one. Obviously consistency has to be a consideration as well. I worry some about Kyla because of her lack of difficulty, but she's been the epitome of consistency. It's still a long way off to the Olympics though -- a lot can change in a year and a half.

For me, team gold and AA gold are first priorities. Event specialists will clean up in events finals. Though considering how strong some of the US' AA'ers are, event finals is just the icing on the cake.

Per other published reports, Marta and USAG's first priority is always the Team event, then I would think AA and Event Finals fall in place after that. Their ability to win the team competition is the reason the athletes are selected though...if we can win those other things with that group, even better.

Yes, I saw that too, but wasn't clear if it meant the squad/team for Jesolo, or the National Team.
