DD had another successful Level 4 meet!

DD had a mishap on bars and posted her lowest score of the season with a 9.25, but it was still good enough for 1st place in her age division! DD stubbed her toe against the low bar during her shoot through- but the weirdest thing is she sort of held herself in a semi-press handstand thing and just adjusted her leg and put it through without taking an extra swing. Apparently the "big" deduction came from her dismount, which she took 3 steps on. That was weird, too- her toes were straight up to the ceiling and she was almost completely upside down when she released the bar. DD attributes it to meet day being the first time in weeks she'd been on the bar without grips and that she'd been up-training level 5 & 6 skills since early December. Either way- she ended her routine with a smile and a giggle. She is the current level 4 state bar champ, so I guess she wasn't feeling pressure.

Vault has always been dd's least favorite event. She likes going over the table, but has always had issues with the fall to flat back thing. She posted a 9.2 for a 6th place finish.

Beam saw dd's highest score of the season by a full point! 9.525 for a 1st place finish.

Floor was spectacular! DD has been battling with Severs lately and has been wearing Cheetah's during practice on FX and Vault but decided after her foot got stuck on the floor during warm ups that she was not wearing them during her floor competition. It worked out and she posted a 9.725, her highest of the season, for a 1st place finish. My teenager videotaped the FX which I am sharing- sorry about the jumpy camera in the beginning. All around was 37.725 for 1st place. Not her highest AA of the season, but DD was very happy with her performance, especially on FX and BB- and we tend to not focus too much on scores or placements, although she was overjoyed that one of her teammates posted her highest score on vault with a 9.6 which resulted in her very first gold medal!

Only two more meets until level 5!

Her floor was fantastic! Good for her, especially after battling with pain from Sever's! She must be incredibly proud :)
