Meet Theme

Our gym is hosting a State Invitational meet this December and we are trying to come up with a theme. Does anyone have any ideas? Kind of looking for something that would be easy for decorations and would make a cool t-shirt design. Thanks for any help.

Some of the themes of meets ive been to included:
-Hawaiian
-hard rock
-hollywood
-super hero
-olympic

you could also do something like around the world, over the rainbow, or musical.

another thing to do would to search the internet for ideas like pary ideas or something.

since it's december winter themes are alwasy good to go with... winter wonderland, candy land with lots of candy canes, santa's workshop. however, sometimes it's fun to get more creative and do something opposite... at the beach in the winter, summer fun. music is always a good choice. we did one that was for the 70s and played lots of disco music, had strobe lights and lava lamps... etc. ppl still have those so you can borrow them. one of my favorite places to shop is Party supplies, crafts, party decorations, toys: Oriental Trading. they have great decorations and they are pretty inexpensive. also remember to take care of the decorations you buy/make and you can re-use them year to year!

we do black jack theme every year now. and when ever you win an event you get "Money" and get to spend it at the "Money" table. its really fun.

Our gym had a "Monkey Business" themed meet a couple years ago. There is a Monkey Business brand store kinda close by and they donated bags with their logos on it and such. There were bananas in the goody bags and blow up palm trees around the competition floor. It was fun because it was a unique theme... not the usual Halloween, Winter, Jingle Bells kinda thing.

A neighboring gym had a "Let the games begin" theme. The table clothes on the judges tables were twister boards, the names of each gymnast were on the wall cut out like scrabble letters and there were pads of paper with tic tac toe or dots games printed on them in the goody bags.

Wow, all this sounds like so much fun. Are all your meets themed? We've never been to one here (don't know if they exist).

DD just went to PJ themed meet. Judges, coaches and gymnasts were all in their jammies. They got jammies (some cute boxer shorts with the meet name on it and a tank top with meet name, too) instead of the usual t-shirt. It was pretty cool. They got the white tank/blue boxers combo the first girl has in this

We go to a meet in early Jan just after the new year and they do a Winter carnival theme. Lots of snowflakes, penguines, polar bears etc. The girls always love the penguines don't know why but they go crazy over them.
