My dd has always gone commando under her leotards. She has always been more comfortable this way, but she is getting older and I feel like her silouette is looking a bit too...let's just say it's time for her to start wearing undies with her leo. Justice used to make great high cut string bikinis but they didn't have any when I looked for them last time. Hanes high cut briefs looked terrible under her leos and she says they bunch up too much. Which undies would you recommend that are comfortable and stay put. Her comp leo is VERY high cut, but her practice leos are the usual Dreamlight, GK, Alpha Factor...Suggestions please!

I just got some of the Justice nude colored string bikinis a few weeks ago. My girls have white team leos and the coaches want all of the girls wearing panties under them. I bought some dance ones and they were awful. The Justice panties are half of the price, the girls say soooo comfortable, and look better under the leos. Maybe Justice was just out when you went?

Last year dd wore the Justice string bikini, but this year we found a regular bikini bottom at Justice and I think it is called "So Soft."They come in both black and nude and it is way more comfortable than the string bikini and you can't see any lines at all under her leo.

The only "undies" I have ever seen allowed on the team girls are nude colored spankies (that's the dance term, I'm not sure what the gym term is...). They're not regular underwear but are meant to go under leos. In dance they are usually colored and meant to go under costumes when the girls don't wear leos or their leos are nude (so it doesn't appear as if the girls are naked when they kick their legs up high).
The vast majority of our team girls do not wear anything under their Leo besides sometimes sports bras.

We just bought the string bikini from Justice for her comp leo. We found some underwear from Arie to wear under practice leos.

I heard the moms of some of the older girls talking about Victoria Secret's Pink brand having a string biking that worked well for their daughters.

I have been looking for a replacement for the Hanes Sporty Hipsters ever since they changed the cut of them... I will be asking the girls about the Justice String Bikinis when they get back from school. The "So Soft" don't seem high cut enough for their needs, but it would be nice if they had SOMETHING to wear under. They each own a white leotard (OG's has colorful peace signs and writing on it and YG's is sparkly white velvet) and even with YG, I noticed last night the leo needs undies or shorts

Luckily the torso of DD's competition leo is black, and doesn't show anything it shouldn't. It also has a sewn-in liner like swimsuits have. Because of these things she doesn't wear undies. I don't know if the teens wear undies under theirs - I've never asked!

For regular practice she wears undies and also shorts over the leo.

DD's gym requires GK undies under comp leos if they need/want them. GymBeeMom, your DD is competing? I thought she had a serious spine condition?

Thre should be no need for underwear under the leotard at any age if the leotard is of good quality!

Our girls wear white AlfaFactor leos and wear nude underwear under them. I'm not sure that it makes a difference for the really young girls; but I could definitely see that it is needed for older girls.

She is back in gym, will compete in Feb. She was cleared by her specialist and is being monitored closely. We are going at a much slower pace and taking it day by day.

I bought bikini cut undies at Kohls for my girls to wear with practice leos. DD1's team is almost all new to competition, and the coach didn't say anything one way or the other at the parent meeting last month.
