WAG Quitting question

When you have to drag them to practice everyday, and it becomes a pain to get them to go. When after they go and get a new skill and had a great day, they still don't want to be there.
When as a coach or parent you can just tell that they are done, you can tell when a kid is truly done. Lots of kids quit that I don't believe are truly done, just need a break, but I guess I will ask them in 10 years and see if I was right.
