I keep ripping and ripping and ripping. It is really holding me back because I am not able to compete. Is there any way to prevent this?
 
I have heard that keeping the skin on your hands soft (lotion, etc) really helps. Try putting lotion on your hands after every practice and at night before you go to bed. You can also try something like udder balm at night. Put it on thick and wear socks on your hands while you sleep. You can also file down any calluses you have to keep those from ripping.

I agree. Keep your hands free of excess dead skin. Soak your hands in warm water and the white spots are dead skin. Use a pummice stone or a normal emery board shave off the skin. Wear gloves to bed over lots of hand lotion. Depending on what level you are in, grips could difinetly help. I would say for 4 and lower, palm gaurds, 5 and above, advanced w/ dowels.
I'm a level 5 and use english bulldog advanced womens double buckles.
