Puma Jr had only won AA once, and it was L3 in 2014. But today was her day! It’s been her weekend actually! Last night she won first place Silver bars (she is USAIGC Bronze, and a Silver bar specialist) and today she medaled on all four events plus a “beam queen” medal for stuck landing. Both bar routines scored 9.3, tying her highest score ever. Many of you know that Puma Jr has had her ups and down in this crazy sport, including an eleven meet streak with zero medals a year and half ago. So though she’s not on anything close to an elite path and may never score as high as a lot of amazing kids on this board, I am so happy for her and so proud of how far she’s come. They really do all have their own journeys. Thanks for letting me share in your kids’ journeys, and thank you for following the adventures of Puma Jr!

Thanks everyone! It was made for tv drama too. The one girl who could have mathematically beaten her didn’t have her floor score up. She needed a 9.4 for the win. So when Puma Jr’s teammate took first on floor with a 9.25, my older daughter, my friend and Puma (who we teased was a closet CGD this afternoon lol) all realized at the same time that she had won. I was posed to video her reaction because I knew it was either first or second at that point. I was shaking!! They were a few feet away from me and started freaking out so I knew just maybe a minute before Puma Jr herself, who said she had no clue...it was awesome!
