Parents Strict Competition rules?

Yep, that's the way it is. The gymnast is not allowed off the floor (unless for bathroom breaks) until the very last competitor is done. I think it's a good rule.
 
I'm pretty sure it's a USAG rule and the meet can lose its sanction if its violated. I think its an insurance thing. USAG has supplemental insurance that covers athletes and coaches at sanctioned meets. I think they don't want anyone who's not a USAG athlete or professional member on the floor. Other team members who aren't competing I have seen on the floor. I always assumed they were okay because they have USAG numbers.
 
We have the same rule, even in the lower divisions, like where my daughter competes. Have not heard of penalties or what they are. But i sure agree with that rule. Would be quite a circus if they would let parents get on the floor to film. I film too, but always do that from where we sit.

At times of when my dd doesn't compete, I sometimes judge, so I get to go on the floor then. haha
