Very helpful! The contradiction between a "safe" landing and a "technically perfect" landing is particularly interesting. Hopefully changes will be made in scoring to accommodate the athlete's safety vs. aesthetics, but I wouldn't expect such a change to happen any time soon.

It is one thing the men's side gets right, and when an athlete like Kohei illustrates it, it's stunning to watch and yes, artistic!

See also this fantastic routine from NCAA nationals -- floor champ Gage Dyer sticks every pass but the first one. Remarkable!
