Hi everyone, my daughter is hoping to be entered for a competition, but will have to demonstrate that she can cartwheel within the next 2 weeks - does anyone have any tips to help a 5 year old get the hang of this?

She has something that looks somewhat like a cartwheel, but she jumps both feet down together for the landing rather than landing one foot at a time. No matter how I try to explain it to her its not quite clicking. This isn't something that her group have worked on before now so she's not had much input from coaches on how to do it.

Thanks for any help :)

Years ago when my sons were struggling to get cartwheels, I found youtube videos of gym girls teaching cartwheels, showed them to my kids, then cleared a lot of space, and had my boys practice while I watched and gave feedback. I used short videos where the girl is good at communicating and has good form, and I kept the practice sessions short and relaxed. I remember one of my boys also did that two footed thing for ages.
