Okay so I was recently at a gymnastics camp and we were working flyways with a spot into the foam pit. But when it was my turn i was scared to do it. I was really nervous because I have done a flyaway with a spot before and I pulled in and my legs banged on the bar and it hurt pretty bad. So now I'm scared to do one! Any tips on how to prevent pulling in and being more confident? Thanks

Repetitions......my dd had the flyaway u spotted on mat in February. She hit her toes.
She has just started to do it with no spot, but she is a very careful kid.
Some kids hit their feet and carry on with no problem.
Just ask your coach to keep spotting you.

I would go back to repeating flyaway timers until you get the timing right. You have to know when to release. Hitting the bars means you are releasing too early.
Once you get that, ask your coach to spot your flip.
You'll get it!
