For Parents Vault mat??

During my dd’s last level 8 meet, the coach decided to add an 8 incher to the vault landing. my daughter landed on her face and the rest didn’t do great either. why would the coach do that and is this common? Thanks!

It’s possible that the coach was unsatisfied with the safety of the landing mats. Obviously it’s a concern because raising the height of the landing to an unusual height that the kids are not used to is an issue.

But we have been to meets where the equipment just wasn’t safe and some

Oh that makes sense! They’ve been having them try it in practice too but it’s so much harder for them to land it. I thought it was more of a trying to get the girls to vault higher but safety issue makes sense. Thanks!
