(In australia) we call them a back-flips (e.g. round-off, back-flip) or just flips (e.g. flip, sault).
To me a back handspring is a back-flip with a step out.

same here back flip. I think it is only USA where they are called back handsprings

We just call them flic's. I have never heard of them being called back handsprings much in Australia. They are usually either called flic's or back flips.

In the UK we say 'flicks' as in short for flick flacks (though i never knew it was short for flick flacks till i read the book!). I'd never even heard of the term 'back handspring' until a few months ago!
