Winter formal is awesome, I'm glad it's still around! I'm going to drop some old fogey dress advice really quick. If you live near 1 or 2 malls or serious shopping places, using out of town meets to dress shop is GREAT. I did that accidentally for Jr. prom because my mom is was in super multi task mode in San Francisco one year. I thought she was crazy and trying to do too much (shopping to her is pointless if you don't try on 9776573456 articles of clothing). When I got to the dance though I saw a bunch of girls in the same dress, and even more in the short version of it. A rare teenaged moment of mom logic making sense lol.
I also hated dress shopping because it was hard to find something that fit right. San Francisco is where I fell in love with backless dresses. I don't know if halter cuts are still insanely popular, but I never liked them on me. Nobody can rock a backless dress like someone who spends their free time in the gym! It's freezing outside, so don't forget your jacket!
