Hi all,
I have went through a lot of documents within USAG and Xcel to find an answer to my questions and I can't really find it. So does anyone know the qualification scores for Region 3 Xcel Gold State and Regionals for both all around and event specialist.

And also if a gymnast cannot preform an event well due to injury and she tries the all around at one meet but doesn't score well can she declare specialist after that meet and be able to go to State or no since she already attempted all around in the season?

Thank you so much in advance for your help!!

I am in Region 2, so I can't speak specifically to how your region does things, but for our Xcel golds, they need a 34 all around to qualify to state, and then at state they take a % of a % to qualify to regionals.

We have never had event specialists at our gym before, so I am not sure of those procedures.

I would look up your state handbook and/or email your state chair. I am in Washington state and we have a website with all the state committee members' contact information on it and we receive regular communications from both the state and the region.

Okay thank you! I am hopeful the same requirements will transfer over to my region. I did try to contact them but she didnt answer so I am waiting before follow up. And thank you for the link!

I am in Region 8, and this topic has been discussed among some of our (Xcel Silver) team parents. According to our region's website, the regional qualifying percentage will be shared with coaches right before the state meet. I believe our state qualifying score was also 34, regardless of Xcel level.

It is a 34 to qualify to regionals for Gold. I believe that it is a 9 on the event if you specialize. You must tell them in advance if you are competing as an event specialist.

Ah okay, thank you so much!

Hi again! I did some research and the gym that is hosting the State meet says under the levels section of their meet info i that any xcel gold athlete who has competeted in at least one sanctioned Xcel meet and got an AA of at least 20.

I am very confussed since the USAG rules say something different than what the host gym is saying. Should I just continue with 34 AA - and 9.00 for event specialist or should I take what the host gym website said (at least 20) and use this for state qualification?

Thank you all in advance!!
