Proud Parent
For xcel silver- Is the split jump required for beam or can they do a tuck jump instead? My daughters coach told her to do a tuck jump at the next meet because she performs it better than the split jump but every routine I see they do the split jump.

In the special requirements, a cross or side split jump or leap is required. There is a .5 deduction for missing it. Here are the special requirements from the latest code of points:
1. Minimum ½ Turn on one (1) Foot
2. One (1) Jump or Leap with a minimum 90° Cross or Side Split (not mount or dismount)
3. One (1) Acro element – Non-Flight
4. Dismount

See pages 33/34 in this pdf.
