Happy 2023! I’m sure this post has long fallen off your radar, but I’d like to share an update. My daughter did change gyms in August and has had a great experience at the new gym. The silver team is large and the girls welcomed her right away…she’s fitting right in and is happy (as am I)...
Wow, I never expected my post to get this many replies and engaging conversations. I do appreciate all of you that replied to my original questions related to leo cost, mandatory apparel purchases, etc.
Other than that, I’ve tried to stay out of anything off topic in this post. However I...
You and the others that have called it out are so right about these inflated fees and apparel being a huge barrier. I never thought about the elitism, but I agree on that as well. Thank you again for weighing in.
OMGosh, I’m so sorry this happened to your daughter. But please don’t blame yourself…who would have thought an adult would act that way toward a child? But now you see her true colors….you might have dodged a bigger bullet by switching now. I know that’s no conciliation to your daughter right...
First off, sorry, this post thread is doing something weird and when I try to undo or back out, it’s posting part of my response. Anyway, sorry for that. OK, the facility is average. It’s clean. The reason we are there in the first place is b/c of my boys. There aren’t as many choices for...

Thanks for your reply. When first learning about the leo cost and hearing from all of you, it was just about the leo cost. But now that I, and some other moms of this gym, are looking into other gyms in the area, we see we are paying waaaay more in meet fees, monthly tuition and other apparel...
Thank you for sharing this, I didn’t realize you had included an attachment until now. I still need to look it over…I can’t wait to see how our fees compare.
Thank you for sharing. So far it does seem the high cost at our gym is the minority, which is good for all the other families out there. My kids just want to do gymnastics and it’s already so expensive.
Your reply made me smile…thank you for expressing the same outrage I feel as well. It is insane. And even though I think $700-$1,200 leos are outrageous, I doubt anyone, even USAG, is actually paying for the leos. GK gets so much free advertising by outfitting the team with these leos…they can...
