    Parents Level 4 three-peat

We changed gyms because the old one just wasn’t at the same level as other area gyms… You’re right and I’m trying to be patient with her rate of improvement because I know it’s going to take some time to catch her up

    Parents Level 4 three-peat

Yes, that is an option, but unfortunately, it would mean she would have to give up Dance because XCEL trains in the evening and right now, my kiddo trains gymnastics during the day. Fingers crossed she just out of level four so we don’t have to worry about it!

    Parents Level 4 three-peat

Thank you for this info. Makes me feel a bit better. Howeve, It’s just so weird because I can name girls at her old gym that never have earned a 36 and they’ve moved up levels….and no level 5 either.

    Parents Level 4 three-peat

So my DD is 10 and about to compete at level 4 for a 3rd year. We switched gyms last year and she definitely saw improvements but her current gym requires 2 scores of 36 or higher to move to level 6 (they don’t compete level 5). She had a bunch of high 34s and 35s but no 36. She is solid on...

    Parents My USAG app

Anyone know who to contact when the My USAG app doesn’t update? My kiddo had states a few weeks ago and her scores still aren’t loaded. I know about my meet scores and other sites it would just be nice to have everything in the app. Just curious Thx!

Parents Low to high score progression

This kiddo in question is going to be a 3x level 4 repeat. Our current gym requires a 36 at least 2x in a season. Shes yet to hit 1. Kiddo is 9 yo

Parents Low to high score progression

Has anyone who has been in the community for a while seen an average gymnast (34-35 scores) at the compulsory level go on to actually be competitive as an optional (36-38s)? Just looking for some feedback/curious. For the record, the child in question has repeated two levels as a compulsory.

    Parents Understanding TOPS

The girls who tested and qualified TOPS are working on routines with much harder skills (i.e. front tuck on floor, cast to handstand on bars, etc). That's why I'm unsure how a judge could compare standard compulsory with TOPs upgrades.

    Parents Understanding TOPS

Just trying to understand TOPs. A few of our girls tested TOPs and qualified to do those level 4 TOPs routines in competition. Great news! I'm curious if those routines have a different starting value than those of standard JO. I know TOPs girls aren't separated for competition so I'm trying...

Parents Understanding E and ND scores

Yup I found out that that’s what it was for…over time on beam. I learn something new every day!

Parents Understanding E and ND scores

The girls I'm talking about are only compulsory level 4. Wouldn't everyone get the same starting difficulty? Only a few girls from the session received E and ND scores while the rest did not. That's why I'm confused.

Parents Understanding E and ND scores

So I don't understand the E and ND scores. My kiddo just went to a meet where a handful of the girls on her team received them (same level but they're TOPs and my kiddo is not). Can someone enlighten me? I'm just curious and trying to learn about the world of gymnastics! Thanks

Parents Learning from my young gymnast

Hi gymnastics moms & dads! I realize, as parents, a lot of us are on this site hoping to gain insight, knowledge, and support as we navigate this crazy sport with our kiddo(s). In the past, I've posted questions about my child's possible success, concerns that she's "average" at competitions...

    Parents Level 4, 20 hours a week

My kiddo competed level 4 last year at a gym that sounds similar…15-20 hours a week. This year we switched gyms (for an array of reasons) and she’s repeating the level…only 9 hours a week. The funny thing is that the quality of her training is far superior. Many of the older girls experienced...
