All gyms in my area including mine have team contracts that prohibit training at other gyms. We all talk to each other so it will come out at some point. I don't know any gym that can have the equipment you need and only charge $65 a gymnast. One set of bars or a beam will set up back 5-6k. The...
12 hours is too much for silver, especially not working BHS. My silvers go 4 hrs and all have their BHS. I would see how the summer plays out first. She will need a roundoff BHS for gold as it is the easiest floor pass imo.
My gym is 2000 sq ft. We compete bronze-gold with no spring floor or full set of bars. We place at state and regionals every year. It can be done, you just have to plan how to use your space. Also, there's no composition deduction for Xcel floor so your gymnasts can do their whole routine in a...
Silver definitely! You need to work on arm and core strength for pullovers. Lots of push-ups and do them with your feet on a chair and wall (hands on the floor). Any ab conditioning will help. Search on YouTube for gymnastics conditioning you can do at home. Ptactice at an Open Gym or on the...
Long hang pullovers, front hip circles, and mill circles can count as 1 of the circling requirements. Most do double BHC but I see a lot of deductions and falls with it. If you compete AAU, can still do cast BHC, cast BHC on on one bar to meet requirements.
We don't have that in our area. All USAG meets are Level 3 and up and there's a few AAU 4x4 meets. Not sure what the turnout is for AAU though. I know some boys even compete in girls Xcel.
What do you have your boys compete in? In my state there's less than 8 clubs that compete boys and they all start at JO level 3. We've looked into doing AAU boys 4x4 but no one does that here. Wasn't there an Xcel version for boys?
Hi,
For bars you don't need a high bar kip. You can long hang pullover on high bar then dismount. Your dismount can be flyaway, cast straddle on, underswing, or tap swing full turn. Lots of options. You aren't required to do anything on high bar except dismount if you wanted to squat on low bar...
So her B is the clear hip so all good. I would do the underswing dismount and keep.working the flyaway. You don't need a flyaway until diamond so she has time. Best of luck to her!
What is her routine? What is her B element? She can do an underswing or sole circle dismount from high bar. She can also add a 1/2 twist to that as well. Reverse flyaways work great for kids with mental blocks on flyaways.
Agree, look at your contract. If you didn't violate the terms, then they should give your money back. I would threaten going to a lawyer if they persist with collections. See what happens. My guess is that they will back off if you didn't violate the handbook. Meet fees already paid by the old...
In our area, it's about $20/sq ft for a lease. Most commercial leases are a minimum of 3 yrs, but more like 5-10 yrs. Tuition is $105 a month for PS and rec classes once a week in our area. Are you buying the old gym's clients? If not, be careful. There are lots of legal things to consider and...
Midwest. AAU has a 4x4 program (3 levels) where the routines are set but can use beam for pommel, low bar for beginners, etc. Xcel here is coed. Don't know if there is boys only xcel still out there? I like the idea of 4x4 but want the flexibility of xcel so boys could choose what they want to do.
