Just see too many girls get to western, then burnout and quit gymnastics. Don’t know why since they are already very good at it , just feel so Sorry for them !
I see so many level 9 gymnasts try very hard to get on western , then the next year they get to a point where they just burnt out and quit maybe because of too much injuries or other reasons just don’t have fun anymore. I am thinking maybe leting go the Western, and savinvg energy for level 10...
Any updates? Heard good things about the Best Darn College Camp. Our gym recommends makkeitright camp . We still are not sure which one to go. My dd is level 9, freshman, wants to do college gymnastics .
Quitting gymnasts sometimes is not a bad choice when your body can’t handle it all. Life has so many options and opportunities , not all just about gymnastics. Maybe you can fall in love with other sports or other activities and become excel at them, because you are still young .
That is a true story from Jill Nick consultant . One of her clients got accepted to college Acro and tumbling team , only competed level 8 . She almost gave up.
Level 5 , 11 year old is not that late. Some gymnasts still get a full scholarship for tumbling , just competing level 8 when in high school junior year.
I am thinking about skipping one practice a week , though coach might not happy . Maybe it will work. The training hours of other gyms conflicts with my old one . It is complicated with two kids. Not just driving
It is very difficult to drive half hour to another gym with less training hours, I feel I might get stressed out for long driving . The Reality is harsh. Either switch sports , or continue stay.
How to identify if your dd gymnasts might get overtrained? It is hard to know how many hours is the right hours for your kids. I don’t think it is based on level? . It should be based on the age ? Or something else?
How many hours hopes, tops or Elites usually do? I am told 35 hours/week from somewhere. Are they overtrained kids? Why They are so many elites doing great with more hours?
Does Over trained practice harm to their health in the long term? How long those trained elites gymnasts live usually in...
