We are in the south... 100+ degrees most days! Morning practices are better since the gym is a little cooler, but ours is a big metal building as well. I remember going to my first meet where it was FREEZING inside and for some reason (probably since it was what I liked), I loved it. My advice...
I posted about 2 years ago this October that I fractured my right elbow on vault and that apparatus striked again! I was doing blocking drills on the trampoline of all things and my elbow dislocated. Yep, hurt again! It popped out and thankfully popped back in by itself later, but has some...
Mine was my radial head as well on my right elbow. Depending on the Injury, all bodies are different and I hope that whatever is going on, that PT will fix in no time! Let it heal all of the way before returning! I've learned that the hard way ;)
We did string bags and I absolutely dislike them because I can't fit my warm ups, grips, water bottle, and shoes and other stuff like hair stuff in my bag during the competition! I say go for a duffle bag or a backpack type bag
Congratulations to her. Making it to nationals is an incredible thing, and she's got so many awesome years ahead! Give her a big hug and let her know you and all of us are proud of her
We have a small gym. About 10-12 optionals. We have levels 6-10 with xcel platinum and diamond (and 5's who are doing a split season of 5 and 6) train together. Xcel silver trains together. Level 3's together. And level 4's and beginner 5's together. The whole team warms up together, but then...
I had the most awful time with my steps and it caused me to have a terrible mental block on just going on vault! What went through my head while sprinting would be "what if I am too close to the springboard" or "I'll hurdle on the wrong foot". It just takes time, practice and persistence...
I'm in Georgia, region 8. My gym competes compulsories from October to April and optionals/xcel from December to april. The reason the compulsories is longer is to allow some of them to move up from 5 to optionals (mainly 6), 3 to 4 or 4 to 5.
Stand by Britt Nicole and Alive by Krewella! And I agree with the Fighter and Hall of Fame. Those are all on my Meet Pump up list when I am next up on beam and need encouragement ;) oh and don't forget home by Phillip Phillips!
