My oldest DS competed for about 6 years. He has since moved on to another sport. I have become a lower level judge for boys/men's gymnastics...I find judging a boys comp less stressful than helping with scoring for a girls comp! Much more laid back and lots of smiles... Even from the higher...
Bryant park us also a cool place to check out... Little craft boutiques with some different stuff...got some mittens that everyone asks about.. And I think there is skating there...just in case...the skating at Rockefeller center is expensive.. If she can...check out times square, but then...
There is a tickets booth in times square... Can't miss it...there is a set of huge stairs attached... Or ask one of the many police officers...they will point you in the right direction... The booth in times square is very busy... Had friends who just went to the box office on the day of the...
Ellen's Stardust Cafe...in Manhattan....walking distance from Times Square... Food is pub style, but they only hire aspiring Broadway performers... The waiters and waitresses take turns singing the whole time you are there.... It was like being at a Musical/dinner theater/party... Had a blast...
HI, I sent my son to a gym camp last summer... it was great for him as there were many more boys and he got to work with some great coaches... but.... it took them a couple days to "feel out" what level he was in... and he didn't really work on anything that he wouldn't have worked on at his...
When my son first started he wanted to wear a singlet and shorts to gym every day (he was seven at the time). Now that he is in middle school he prefers shorts and a t-shirt, which is what the older high school boys wear... yes, we are at the age when what you wear matters now! In the summer...

My son has had similar problems as well. The other events seem to come pretty easy but that mushroom... what can I say.. he is doing much better on it.. I think his highest number of circles is 20 in a row, but... this is his third year competing... he does level 2 in Canada (there are 5 levels...
Our gym just started a new policy for this year that allows parents the opportunity to view training for 1 week of each month. After that you have to make a special request to view (ie. if a visiting grandparent would like to watch). The coaches will also invite a parent in to watch a new...
