She’s a kid. It’s your responsibility to protect her, full stop.
You walk out the door and tell your kid that you don’t approve of the way the adults are behaving in that situation. You teach your kids to walk away from abusive and unhealthy situations; this is an important lesson in life.

I think a camp would have to be absolutely exceptional for me to travel for a two half day camp. It was in our area last year, however we did not attend. Teammates described it as fun and a positive uplifting environment but nobody came back with new skills learned. Moms commented that there was...
Our optional coach will join in sometimes, but with girls who have been training for years and know the exercises. Younger and lesser experienced gymnasts really should be monitored for safety and form, and I don’t see how that can be easily done if the coach is working out too.
Is there a particular reason she feels the need to keep her new club secretive for several months? I guess I don’t understand. While she doesn’t need to make some sort of grand announcement, I would think answering honestly if asked would create less drama and speculation than trying to be...
Our gym privately invites girls to preteam from rec class. Those girls are then selected to move to the full team when ready.
I most certainly don’t mean to be negative, but our gym would not select a girl who is not currently in a group class due to “distracting behavior” as you describe it...
We have a similar schedule. I work part time and carpool with another part time working mom. We cover the days we are home and if we both work a day, we’ve done various things to make it work. Sometimes my MIL will run them, we have also at time shared the cost of hiring a responsible high...
Scores will be lower, so prepare for that. Also agree with the person above who mentioned “text errors”. Attention to detail is extremely important in compulsory levels.
Our girls are learning sections of routines and passes now. They will start putting it all together/full routine practice in August/September for early November meets.
If you haven’t had to officially let them know if she’s competing, maybe they are waiting until the commit date as to not have...
Yes, we’ve listened to pretty much near all of them lol!
Daughter was compulsory last year so didn’t get to go to many meets to see what was popular & overplayed so was hoping to hear from y’all.
Found an older thread on this topic…thought we could give it at 2024 update ;)
Name a floor music/artist/etc. that you feel is overplayed and super popular. DD looking for something new and can’t decide AT ALL. But she doesn’t want to have the same thing as everyone. So I thought we’d start...
On a somewhat, yet not completely related note, why do they not on occasion re-boundary the regions to even numbers up a bit? Seems that would not solve the problem completely, but would help if at least each region was sending a similar percentage of athletes to nationals.
All I can say is I understand your daughter’s mental and emotional struggles and how they aren’t always so apparent. Mine is the same. Luckily *most* parents and my kids gym is nice and supportive. We just kind of distance ourselves from the ones who aren’t. But I was talking to a friend and...
