My daughter’s bar routine starts with two glide swings (the gymnast regrips between glides). I’m confused about how a glide shows “full extension”. My daughter is short enough that she could fully extend with a straight body but her coach makes her hold her body in a dish shape (pic attached)...
My daughter’s competing a handspring to flat back this year. I’ve noticed that the coach is also training them on a layout to flat back. Can anyone tell me the reason for this? The girls are not allowed to tuck their heads in the layout flat back and it can be scary to watch! Thanks 😊
I just wanted to thank you both for your advice! My daughter practised staying tight, straight arms, leaning forward and shifting wrists a bit slower and she came first on bars at her most recent competition! She can now whiz round the bar and stop in front support :)
My 7yo used to be able to do a back hip circle just fine, but over the last month she has started overdoing it. She accidentally goes around twice and can’t stop after just one rotation. Her coach thinks that her cast has become more powerful and that she just needs to lean back less and push...
