My son had ankle surgery aa a 14 yo level 9. He was non weight bearing and out of the gym for a 8 weeks. He came back slowly over the summer - got all his skills back and more....
The first time (at 9/10) when he was tiny & isn’t have to worry about hitting his feet- I’d say about a year of drills and then a few months of actually doing then to be confident. The second time- after growing lots- about 4 months of refiguring everything out.

Did you see this? We did the state meet at our gym for fun last year.(Our girls were doing NGA and our boys competed state/nationals if they wanted. Scores seemed much higher than JO.

DS (L10)has had two meets -both significantly higher AA than last year - both good AA placements. He's 12/12 - which never happens at L10 mens - but he's also all set for college next year and not competing anything crazy where he could get hurt. Best part -...
