Yes. It is ok for her to go and just have fun. Just show off what SHE can do and not worry about what others can do. The joy in the sport is the key. My son went to many meets as a young gymnast where he just had fun. I am not sure he even realized that he was not placing well. We just...
Happy everything!
It was different this year since my daughter lives in Japan, and my son had pneumonia, but we have had fun, and are enjoying just hanging out! Video chats help a lot!
Not a coach, but a teacher. A card is always amazing, especially personalized. I always love those. If you want to do something more, a small gift card goes a long way, but I am honestly always happy with a heart-felt card!
With my son, we were sure none of that was in the cards. We were just along for the ride. He was good, better at some events, had success. But we were realistic, especially in the MAG world. Even as he was a D1 gymnast, I still couldn't believe it sometimes.
Oh man. I am so sorry, but hopefully he recovers fully.
I would have him go to practices (if coaches are good about following injury rules). It is hard when it is Upper body, but he can still be a part. He can do some conditioning (running/bike). He can support his team, and still feel like...
Keep us posted. Those preseason injuries are so frustrating. And overuse is the worst.
I hope he truly can get better. THere is nothing wrong with scratching horse in the beginning of the season if it gets him where he needs to be at the end. Of course, we know that, but it is still so...
Unfortunately, this is a reality for many. It really sucks. And I am sorry the coach made him continue with horse when he was in so much pain.
Going to the PT is a great idea, and honestly, if you have the option for an urgent care, you could get an xray done and that might speed things up...
Has she said she wants to retire? If so, then give her permission to do that.
But if she has not, I would let her figure things out on her own. She may want to just do what she can this season, and finish at the end of the season, and there is nothing wrong with that.
I think you take her...
My son's gym did something similar. They would line up in height order at the end of practice, stuff was said (I have no idea) then they would start with the smallest in a line with handshakes for the coaches. Usually the coaches were the ones giving individual kudos during this time. I kind...
Age is one factor. If you are below a certain age, you have to start at L4 and score out. Otherwise you can petition into JO, and I think L7 is the highest you can petition into. Also you would need to find a gym that can do this. How old are you?
Almost always! With L7 and up, changes can be made as needed, in practice, in meets, heck, sometimes mid routine the kiddo might change what he is doing (my son was a master of this!).
Usually coaches like the skill to be ready, and then they can try it in meets. Ad you get closer to...
Get detailed lists of what she can and cannot do. Get it from a PT or Dr. A good coach will use that to guide practice. Then your daughter does not have to. But it would also be good for her to speak up and let them know when it is hurting.
My son went through a few soft tissue injuries...
