Coaches Exchange students trainning in USA

One thing to take into consideration, and I do not know if this will be an issue or really that it is applicable to only the agency my exchange student went through. However, when she looked into choosing Canada, (preferred by her father for safety reasons) the agency could not guarantee that...

Coaches Exchange students trainning in USA

There may be more but schools with a gymnastics team that also have a private gymnastics club located in the same city are Solon, Chagrin Falls, Kenston, Mentor, Medina, Brecksville, Twinsburg, and Brunswick. I know there are more, I just cannot think of them.

Coaches Exchange students trainning in USA

High school gymnastics in Ohio would be a great choice. I am familiar with the Cleveland area and there are a number of strong high school programs that train at the private gyms in the area. These gyms will also have training for the high school gymnasts throughout the year and not just the...

There are a number of high schools in the Cleveland, Ohio area with higher level gymnasts. Some of them have also had exchange students in the past.

    Parents Favorite meet gift?

My daughter received bright orange luggage tags with the meet logo last year. At the time she wasn’t completely impressed but when we travel she always says to look out for the luggage with the bright orange tag with the meet name. This leads to us discussing that day and that meet which will...

    Parents Sports after Gymnastics

I agree with pole vaulting and/or long jump. My daughter did both and has asthma issues with running long distances. When she would do the running part of training it was with the sprinting group which she said was never as much cardio as a cardio day at gymnastics.

Off Topic Ex gymnast transition to track and field

My daughter was a level 8 gymnast and did pole vaulting her senior year. Would have her sophomore year if not for Covid. Her highest jump was over 9 feet which is not far from the minimum height at the college she attends. We tried to motivate her to keep working on it and try to walk into the...

    Women L8 bars ?

The most common one I have seen is a bail to horizontal. Others have been a straddle back and an uphill. No one at my daughter’s gym does an alternative to the pirouette so I only know from watching at meets.

Parents Anyone going/been to Buckeye classic recently?

My family really liked Otherworld, it is very unique and will take a few hours to go through. As stated above the opening ceremony is an additional fun part of the meet. My daughters typically say the gym I gift is the best one of the season.

    Parents Level 8 Beam series

Back handspring step out connected to a round off may be an option. She would have to switch her step out leg on the back handspring but it might be ok for her back

    Women L8 bars ?

I may be not remembering correctly but having a daughter who was continually hitting her feet before the bar in meets, somehow not as much in practice, I thought they gave her the deduction for a fall plus the form issues. Her start value would be flashed as a 10.0 which must have included the...

    Women L8 bars ?

I think also where in relation to the bar the feet hit, as in before or after the low bar.
