I suggested we do this at the last gym my daughter and I worked out at/worked at (when we were moving to a new building and getting new pits) and was shot down so fast. I would love to hear of gyms that take...
My dd is 10 training Hopes and Lvl 9. Her coach just moved gyms and the new location does not have a foam pit.
The question is, are airbags and/or resi pits a safe alternative to the traditional foam pit when learning new lvl 9 and 10 skills?
We have a acrobatic gym. we bought 7 rolls of Flex Roll Carpet Bonded Foam in 2014. it has been on spring floor most of its life, rolled up maybe 15 times..
These separations are happening in various spots on the floor. We are just wondering is 10 years the normal life of flex roll?
We are...
This weekend DD gym hosted there yearly meet. Things went smoothly and I actually had fun volunteering all weekend long. During setup and tear down the coaches were available and much bonding took place.
I learned our gym does not have a spring floor but instead a foam floor. The HC/Owner...
I don't have much experience with this, but who regulates the safety of foam pits? Does USAG have standards? We have been at gyms that have pits with dangerously low levels of foam in their pits and it is shocking to think that kids would actually be working high level skills in these pits...
Hoping someone out there can give me some advice. Our gym is not in a position to build an in ground pit so I have been looking at alternative solutions. Does anyone know anything about inflatable foam pits? Their pro's and con's. Or maybe air pillows? Any assistance would be appreciated.
Has anybody tried these? Link Removed
My Ginnasta finger holes are much to big, as are my teammates. I have been thinking about buying a few of these for my whole team since they are so cheap. Anybody like these? Dislike?
Can anyone recommend a good foam roller? There are so many for sale, I can't tell which would be good for a gymnast with muscle knots. There is also a range of sizes: My daughter is pretty small. I'm assuming I should get a smaller roller. Is that right?
Grateful for advice!
Hi - hoping someone out there might have had a similar experience or can help us ....
After much fundraising, our Club has just bought a new foam column (Acromat) floor. It has been installed for about a month and we have found it is is super-hard compared to our previous floor (also a foam...
Hi
I am a coach and also a parent.I want to buy foam and make a couple of mats to put under our home bar.Does anybody know what grade of foam would be most suitable?
I have a 11 year old gymnast who would like a foam roller (Christmas present). Anyone know the best size and density? She is about 4'9" and 77 pounds. Thanks!
Hello! I have an honestly quite random question, but I actually am curious, so here goes. Foam rollers. Can they be beneficial to gymnasts, especially to gymnasts with very sore muscles? I have read many interesting articles about their potential harm, so I don't know. My reason for asking is-...
I am wondering if the pit at my DD's gym is too small for gymnasts who are working more advanced skills and who are "regular sized" (5'1") and not teeny tiny little ones. Is there a regulation/recommended size? My DD has had a number of injuries resulting from the pit, including a pretty...
I'm looking for foam used to cover a floor -- we're making some rearrangements, and I'll need to get some exposed concrete covered.
Where does one acquire this sort of foam, and how much does it generally cost?
I don't know if it is just a strange coincidence or if there is an actual reason but every single time we use the foam pit to train I end up with a respitory illness, mostly just colds, but this last one was bad after 3.5 weeks I am still recovering and have a sinus infection and a bad cough...
