Weird question:
Can a back extension roll be used as a beam mount? The gymnast would stand on the floor, back to the beam, and then do a back extension roll to handstand and then lay their stomach on the beam to get to front support on the beam.
The reason I ask is one of my gymnasts wants it...
Hello! I was wondering if someone could tell me what mounts are allowed for xcel gold bars. Is a pullover from 1 foot permitted? I’m getting conflicting info and am worried about my child’s routine. Thanks so much!
Wondering if a more "complicated" beam mount offers anything of value to a score at levels 6/7.
The TOPS/HOPES/elite coach at her gym asked to do her beam choreography (yep, that was weird...my kid literally has no chance of being moved to that group, nor would we agree to it, so it was not...
Hi
I would like to teach the Free aerial cartwheel to support mount on beam... I was hoping someone would have some drill videos to assist with this please.
Thanks in advance.
I have an Xcel Gold who sits on the beam and moves into a chest handstand. She has been competing this all season with no problem and even had a judge tell her to take an extra acro out of her routine because she doesn't need it because she has the chest handstand in there. However, at our last...
Hi! My daughter is really struggling to keep her legs straight on her Level 2 beam mount (while they are swinging to the push-up position). She is getting frustrated and is looking for tips. She says she is squeezing them as hard as she can but they still bend just a little. In general, she...
I am an AUS coach so I don't know what the terms are in the US for this skill, but we call it a tuck through to pike hold or a squat through to pike. It is a mount on beam that my gymnasts are competing this year. Many of the girls are having trouble not touching the beam with their feet on the...
If there such thing as a front tuck mount Landon on one foot on beam? I'm learning just the front tuck mount right now and I'm having trouble getting both feet on the beam, but I'm fabulous at getting one and landing one. I just would like to know because it the skill is named after me there's...
My knees are not touching like it's a weird crouching position where my knees are pointed out. Any tips?
And when I swing my legs back to the mount, it hurts my tailbone and I can't balance well.
Hi everybody.
We just had a meet where all our level 3 girls, that competed a glide pull over, got deducted because their mounting spring board wasn't removed until after they started their pull over. The judge said the deduction is called "failure to remove springboard or mounting mat/block...
My DD is very confused on her beam mount for the new level 4 routine. She is a lefty and has always done the leg swing mount on the old levels by swinging her LEFT leg over the beam. However during practices of the new level 4 routine her coach is having all girls (left and right legged girls)...
Fun game, huh? LOL
Okay, my kiddo is obsessed with the movie Stick It right now and she really likes the scene where they have the girls doing bar routines and tumbling in a really psychedelic way that looks like there are five or six of them on the bars at the same time.
Anyway, she wants to...
I never taken gymnastics classes as a kid but put my dd ( now 4 year old) in it. She gained strength and flexibility. Now she keeps practicing at home. I never ask her to go anything. She is not allowed go do anything dangerous at home. She can do splits and maybe cartwheels at home. But that...
While watching various old gymnastics clips today, I came across a mount on uneven bars that I don't remember ever seeing.
The gymnast started beyond the high bar, ran, did a roundoff onto a springboard, did some sort of tucked flip before grabbing the low bar with her hands.
It was very...
Hey guys, so as you all know I am an Intermediate Optional, so therefore I get to have my own beam routine. That being said I have always wanted my mount to be similar to Jordyn Wieber's, but one of the coaches doesn't like middle splits as a mount because of the common flexed feet/bent knee...
