    WAG Why is the equipment ie bars, beam etc raised on podiums?

    I recently went to OU vs Florida's womens meet. I noticed the mats and equipment are not raised on podiums. Why do they do podiums in elite? Out of curiosity.. Also, how does the equipment stay stable enough on podiums?

    US men's podium training today!

    I think we're probably safe in assuming Donnell Whittenburg is the first all arounder. Who will the US put up as the second? I could imagine making an argument for Naddour (hi bar issues), Leyva (consistency), or even jumping Marvin Kimble from alternate to all arounder, figuring the experience...

    WAG Secret Classic podium training

    Is anyone else watching the podium training live feed? I saw that Simone has a punch barani on beam now! I'm having a little bit of a hard time IDing most of the gymnasts but I'm pretty sure I saw Aly on vault and her DTY didn't look as clean as I expected. Any other observations?
